The Advantages of LED (light-emitting diode) Landscape Lighting

Tony P

You’ve probably heard a lot about the advantages of LED lights, but don’t really understand why they are so much better than their predecessors?

In comparison to their (fluorescent, incandescent or halogen) light bulb counterparts, we already know that LEDs are a more energy efficient option and a much safer alternative for the environment.

Did you also know… LED lights are sustainable through even the harshest and coldest Canadian weather conditions?  Which make them a perfect choice to illuminate your OutdoorSpace!

It’s true LED lights are an incredibly beneficial light source that you should be considering for illuminating your OutdoorSpace.

So let’s take a closer look… at all of the advantages LEDs have to offer:

LIFESPAN

LED lighting systems have a much longer lifespan than traditional light bulbs, and especially when exposed to extreme weather conditions. For instance, a standard incandescent (60 watt) light bulb would last (approximately) 1,200 Hours, while the equivalent (800 Lumen) LED bulb would last (approximately) 25,000 hours. NO COMPARISON THERE!

Fact is… cold weather wears on traditional light bulbs very quickly due to their excess heat emission that cause them to burst when the temperature drops. As a result, the lifespan of an Incandescent Light Bulb is drastically reduced. With LED lights, you won’t have this problem.

Why… because they don’t emit heat in the same way that conventional light bulbs do, and are therefore able to easily withstand harsh transitions between hot and cold. Under performance and longevity are simply not an issue with LED bulbs.

REDUCED MAINTENANCE

By replacing your existing outdoor bulbs with LEDs… you will eliminate the need for constant replacement saving you time, money and frustration. That’s especially important when facing cold weather, as it’s not likely that you’ll want to be spending time digging around in the snow and ice in freezing temperatures to replace your old landscaping lighting bulbs this winter?

HIGH EFFICIENCY

LED lighting systems also offer… a high level of efficiency. When the mercury on the thermometer drops below freezing, traditional (Incandescent or Halogen) light bulbs have to use more power to emit heat in order to produce enough light.

LEDs on the other hand… are high-efficiency light sources that actually perform better under colder temperatures. They don’t have to work harder in order to produce more light because they are already built for such drastic changes in temperature, making them the ideal option for Landscape Lighting.

BRIGHTER LIGHTING

With LEDs… you will also enjoy clearer visibility with brighter emissions, ideal for darker winter months and navigating extreme weather conditions. As previously mentioned, LEDs don’t require a great amount of power in order to produce a brighter light. Even the smallest Lumen LED bulbs can produce 30 lm/W, still better than what you would get from the highest functioning traditional electric light bulb.

LEDs are without a doubt your best option for lighting your OutdoorSpace

and especially in this climate!

Don’t wait to replace your existing Landscape Lighting or invest in a brand new LED Landscape Lighting System!
